In a Nutshell...

I am a wife and mother. I have 3 little girls, all of which have very different birth stories--two with the support I needed and one without. My birth experiences were not easy and none of them were the sunshine and rainbow unicorns that I hoped they would be. That's why I'm here today....doing what I do--because I've been where you are and I know. I know for sure that the births I had doulas with, were 100% better experiences. Doula support makes all the difference....like, ALL the difference, you guys. I can't emphasize this enough.
Because of the events that transpired during my girls' births and situations I have been in while supporting clients, I am a very well-rounded doula that can support you through any experience: planned or unplanned, dramatic or "boring," sunshine and rainbows or turbulent storm, everything you ever hoped or nothing going "right." I have a special place in my heart for VBAC clients and first- time parents.
I love supporting families and helping them achieve a positive view of their baby's birth day. I learn something from every client I serve and being a part of each one of their very different journeys is one of my greatest joys and passions. I would be honored to be a part of yours. When we meet for our consultation, please ask me about my training, the ways I further my education, and my experience.

I Specialize in Low Intervention Birth
Whether you choose to birth at home or at the hospital, I specialize in helping families who are choosing the path of low intervention. That does not mean things can't change, but it does mean my expertise and experience tend to thrive with this as my ideal client. Most of my clients are successful at achieving their goal of low interventive/unmedicated birth. Having a doula by your side makes a big difference.

While I have no agenda on how your birth should go, I do prefer that my clients share the commonality of a like-minded goal that allows me to use my abilities to help you in the best way possible.

If you know you are planning a more interventive or "mainstream" hospital birth and are only looking for a doula as an advocate or emotional/informational support person, I do take these clients on a limited basis with the possible option of a modified/virtual package, so please do reach out. If I am not a good fit for you, I can refer you to a doula who is.

I DO NOT share call with other doulas
You will have me at your birth, barring an emergency, me being with other clients or a before-mentioned unavailability. BUT rest assured if that were to happen, I am PROUD to provide you with wonderful, dependable backup.

I am a TEAM player but NOT a doormat
Being a doula in the hospital specifically, can be tricky. Not all providers or nurses are supportive of your goals and dreams for your birth. I strive very hard to maintain good relationships with all care providers, if possible. However, if you tell me you are working with a provider (or team) that I know is not a good fit for the birth you are describing that you want, I will tell you. It is up to you what you decide to do with that information, but I will always be honest with you about what I know.

Once I am in a birth space with a client, I will advocate for you when appropriate and in an appropriate manner. I will represent myself in a respectful way and be a team player.

I will also ALWAYS stay within my scope of practice as a doula. I am not a medical provider and strive very hard not to give medical advice or advise you to go against a specific recommendation based on my opinion. I will however, let you know if there have been any options conveniently left out, and give you evidence-based information that you can use to make your own informed decisions.
What makes me different?
