Placenta Encapsulation

If you are already a birth doula client, the process is easy peasy, I will take your placenta home with me after attending your birth and prepare it in my separate, specialized kitchen. I process only one placenta at a time so you can rest assured there will be no mix ups. I will utilize strict OSHA blood borne pathogens and food handlers sanitization procedures, for my safety and for yours.

I also offer encapsulation as a stand-alone service. You dont have to be a birth doula client (additional travel fee may apply to birth places outside a 30 mile radius).

I offer Basic-Heated Method and Traditional Chinese Medicine Method(s) of encapsulation. These processes include steaming the placenta, then dehydrating it before grinding it up into powder and encapsulating it into pill form for ingesting.

Pricing and Options

Birth Doula Services + Placenta Encapsulation:

If encapsulation is desired, a separate placenta encapsulation contract will be signed and the cost of the desired package/options will be added to the amount of the final birth doula payment due by 36 weeks or can be made in a separate payment. I will deliver your pills to you within 72 hours after birth and we will conduct our postpartum visit at this time. If your placenta is unfit to be encapsulated due to infection or hospital not releasing it, I will refund in full.

Upon contacting me about preparing your placenta we will schedule a time to meet and sign the contract/take care of payment. We will discuss the process and my/your responsibilities related to storage, when to contact me, and transport/delivery. If your placenta is unfit to be encapsulated due to infection or hospital not releasing it, I will refund in full. I will deliver your pills to you within 72 hours after birth. I can deliver to your home or at the birth place if you are still there when I complete your placenta.

If you are a client of one of my backup doulas (or working with certain homebirth midwives), and are interested in encapsulation, please contact me for information on a special rate ($150) and how your doula or midwife and I will work together to make your experience as smooth as possible.
